Dear Family and Friends,

Deb and I are, as we like to say, “On the road of the New Creation, fighting back against the fallen powers, under the banner of our King.”

In view of this Good News, we are hopeful and determined, despite the challenges that all of us have had to face to one degree or another over the last year. We know that our Lord, in his own faithful life, death, and resurrection, has already defeated death, sin, and every enemy; and that He now reigns and strengthens us by the power of His Spirit to take up the tasks and callings and gifts that He is giving to each of us with each new day. So, after a year of reduced activity at Camp Seale Harris, we are preparing again for what we hope will be a renewal of activity this summer for the young people with diabetes who go to camp.

Each year, the Memorial Scholarship in Zach’s name allows a young person with diabetes from the Birmingham area to go to camp, and to take advantage of the camp’s great facilities, its staff, and the opportunity for training in the latest equipment and methods. Before his passing in 2013, as a child, Zach benefited greatly from going to camp himself. And now, in the care of our Maker, as we await the renewal of all things, we hope he takes joy in knowing about this continuing effort in his honor. Deb and I are glad to be able to remember, to honor, and to celebrate Zach’s life in this way.
